Co Meath’s Declan McEvoy came out on top in the third round of the Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour at Ravensdale Lodge in Co Louth today (Sunday).

McEvoy partnered the seven-year-old Kannan gelding BLM Cosmopolitan Dandy to victory, with one of just two double clear rounds in 45.31 seconds. The pair had four seconds to spare over runner-up Daniela O’Toole (49.67) aboard the eight-year-old mare Drumagoland Cancun who also kept all the fences standing.

Jordan Coyle had posted the fastest time of the day (36.86) with Amino VH Winkenshof but one fence down saw them finish in third. Dubliner Amy O’Rourke slotted into fourth with Toscana and they also took the Pro-Am prize. Jennifer Kuehnle and Ballistic M2S grabbed fifth place. Kuehnle, who is the reigning LST champion, also finished the day as the best placed Young Rider.

Along with taking the winners prize, Declan McEvoy crowned an excellent day by also finishing sixth with Moon Zappa.
