There was a victory for the host county in the sixth round of the Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour, with Westmeath’s Nano Healy landing the top prize at Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Healy stopped the clock clear in 33.77 seconds with the nine-year-old mare Trickin About, who is owned by Dorothy Healy.
Offaly’s Killan Norris was just a fraction of a second slower with the eight-year-old mare Quitana VH Maarlohof (34.00) to take runner-up spot. Nano Healy grabbed two places on the podium, finishing third with Trickin Around.
Fresh from a win the previous day at Wexford with Future Storm, Tholm Keane finished fourth in Mullingar this time riding Delano W. All of the top five produced double clear rounds, including Jessica Burke who finished fifth with CC Captain Cruise.
Mullingar’s Roisin Fagan came agonizingly close to winning on home soil. She posted by far the fastest time of the day with Ikan (30.45) but one fence down saw them finish sixth.
Mervue Equine, which is part of Mervue Laboratories, offers a wide range of products, which are manufactured at its facility in Co Cork and distributed in the UK and Ireland by Briovet through its website briovet.com
The next round of the Mervue Equine LST will take place at South County Dublin Show on July 31st.
