04 Jun Leinster Riders clock up the results in Mullingar CSI 2*
Leinster riders dominated the 1.45m International CSI 2* Grand Prix which was part of the Plusvital Premier Series. Kilkenny rider, Eoin Brennan led the victory lap aboard Eskola M when they were fastest of three double clears in the six-way jump-off in a time of 36.75. The 15-year-old stallion is by Singapore and out of Aranca.
The Brennan family were back in the line-up with James and Mhs Everything taking third when they lodged the last of the double clears in 40.42. Carlow’s Jason Foley and Durango VDL beat the time, clocking 36.59 but it came at a price with one on the ground for eventual fourth. Meath’s Cian O’Connor and Fox Chapel finished on eight faults in a time of 43.60. Kilkenny rider Seamus Hughes Kennedy and Echonix completed the line-up.
Earlier in the day in the 1.35 Jump Off – International, Jack Ryan and Dsh Lucky Junior took the runner-up spot when clear in 36.29, ahead of Susan Fitzpatrick and Guedelon Batilly clear in 38.18.
Winner of the International 1.35m on Sunday was Eddie Moloney and Damma Kannan Supreme when double clear in 33.72. Patrick Hickey and Genepi des Mansart claimed third place when clear in 35.07. Also in the line-up was Kildare rider Derek Mcconnell and Longfield Quinlui clear in 36.25 for fifth place, ahead of Vincent Byrne andCbi Bella Donna, clear in 36.86.
In the 1.25m International, Robert Harrison and Ces Wicked Contender claimed the runner-up spot when double clear in 36.11. Wexford rider Tomas Doyle and Monbeg Sunny Spells took fourth when clear in 36.71, ahead of Nicola Fitzgibbon and Galwaybay Sparkie, clear in 37.98 for fifth.
In the opening speed international, Kilkenny rider Eddie Moloney and the Equinimity AMR owned seven-year-old mare Rosamund, accounted for fourth place when they came home with nothing to add in 52.05.
The Aisling Byrne 1.40 Speed saw Susan Fitzpatrick and Keatingstown Mister take second when clear in a time of 66.34. A clear from Eoin Brennan and Eskola M 68.76 saw them take fourth place. Mikey Pender and Cyprus’ clear round in 69.66 proved good enough for sixth place.
In the Glenn Wood sponsored 1.25m, third place belonged to Aine Shortall and Killerisk Can YA when she stopped the clock in a time of 58.47. Cian Byrne and Ciao Bella accounted for fourth place when they clocked 58.73.
Victory in the Castleforbes Stud 1.30m Speed Kildare rider Derek Mcconnell and Longfield Quinlui when they stopped the clock in a time of 56.22. Sean Monaghan and Hard To Beat took third place when they galloped home in 61.28. Fourth place belonged to Annelies Loose and Folly Stuff , when they clocked 61.69.
In the 1.45m National Science Park Grand Prix, Wexford rider Patrick Hickey partnered the 11-year-old stallion Casago II to a clear in 39.11 for second. Eoin Brennan and Limestone Briarhill Lui followed closely behind as they stopped the clock in a time of 39.37 for third place. Meath rider, Aidan Killeen and Caquarista PS in 41.53 saw them take fifth place. Kilkenny young rider Emily Moloney and Temple Alice put in a brilliant display of riding, crossing the line in 47.16 for sixth
