For those riders following the Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour it was a busy weekend as last weekend saw a double bill of the popular Tour. The first of the rounds took place in Coilog on Friday and then the action moved to Ballivor. In Coilog, it was Lt. James Whyte that emerged victorious in the 1.35m division when he delivered a double clear with the 16-year-old Chippson sired Carrigoran in a time of 31.81. The Army Equitation rider also took fifth place with Seapatrick, when he came home clear in 35.04. Brendan Murphy put in a gallant attempt and delivered a clear in 32.31 proved only good enough for the runner-up spot. It was a good day for the Wicklow native as he also took third place with Cassie’s Dream, clear in 33.36.Kilkenny’s Vincent Byrne also maintained a clean sheet with Jackson Vive, but in a slower time of 34.12 saw him take fourth.Completing the top six line-up was Sean Kavanagh and Carousel Gold, clear in 38.66.


📌In the 1.20m it was young rider Wiktoria Starzak and Alfadaeo who claimed victory when clear in a time of 36.46. Gillian Bond chased her home with Vicomte DH Z, stopping the clock in 36.87 for second Amateur rider Stephen Nolan (AA) and Caricell Supercharge, delivered a clear in 37.76 for third place, ahead of Brendan Murphy and Castlelawn Diamond Junior, clear in 38.72. Barbara Allen wasted no time and clocked 39.40 aboard Carnlea Beach for fifth place, ahead of Cornelius Brennan and 39.52 and Escarda U for sixth place.


📌Amateur rider Aileen McDermott (AA) and Amber Balou delivered the winning round in the 1.10m division, when clear in 22.81. Fellow amateur rider, Stephen Nolan p took the runner-up spot with Caricell Supercharge, when clear in 25.05. The next three placings were filled by young riders. Best of those and taking third place was Eoin Halpin and Action Candy, when clear in 25.18, ahead of Ciara Kelly and Annestown Clover Concorde, clear in 26.44. Grace Dehaene and Derrypatrick Dream came home clear in 30.63 for fifth place. Slotting into sixth place was Sara Pothman Cullen when she delivered a clear Porch Party in a time of 33.60.


📌Ballivor In the 1.35m it was Nicholas Butler when he was fastest of just three double clears with Tom Jones’ Carrick Kilderrys Diamond in a time of 41.41 seconds. Gerard Clarke took the runner-up spot when he put in a blistering round with Lupins Lux Z, clear 41.67. Slotting into third place was Orla Cassidy and Bridgemans Olympic Star, clear in 43.25. Andrew Hodgins proved out of luck when he had one on the ground with his own Sandra in 43.27 for fourth place, while in fifth was Edward Doyle and Carillon, who crossed the line carrying four faults in 46.83. Taking sixth place was Sean Monaghan and Pilniria Z, who was fastest of the four faulters in the first round in 88.12.
📌Aileen Mc Dermott picked up another prize as she went on to take the win in the 1.20m. Riding the reliable Amber Balou, she delivered a double clear in 31.63. Deirdre Doyle chose the long lines with BLM Authentic Diamond and it paid off as she came home clear in 33.77 for second place. Nicholas Butler took third with Pacco Lion, clear in 34.67, ahead of Timmy Keogh and Jaguar Blue, clear in 36.83,. Slotting into fifth place was Hallie Crowe and Riverstown Flamenco Cruise, who was clear in 37.07. Sixth place belonged to Paul Murphy after he delivered a clear with Rupacino in 39.66.
📌This weekend will surely be a memorable one for Aileen McDermott as she went on to take the win in the 1.10m section. Riding Amber Balou she delivered the winning round of clear in25.58. Fellow amateur rider Marie Hartley (AA) took the runner up place, when she was only a split second behind with Scarthill Vendi in 25.99. Hartley as she also took third place with Nikita Van Het Heidenhof, when clear in 27.47. Andrew Hodgins was back in the line-up, when he partnered Bobello to a clear in 28.06 for fourth place, ahead of amateur rider Brian Cassidy and Looks Easy, clear in 28.42.
