18 Mar Win for Edward Butler in Broadmeadows on Harold McGahern’s Rincoola Rua

imageEdward Butler from Co Kildare won the Broadmeadow’s leg of the HSI Connolly’s RED MILLS Spring Tour on St Patrick’s Day riding Harold McGahern’s “Rincoola Rua”.   Rincoola Rua is by Diamant de Semilly and out of the famous mare “Rincoola Abu” whose daddy was “Cruising”.

Edward fought off a field of 12 combinations in the Jump Off over a strong course of fences designed by International Course Designer, Tom Holden to win this leg of the Tour.

Edward is based at  Emerald International in Kildare and is a member of the  showjumping family of three International riders, Edward, Alexander and Nicolas.  Their family were reared  just outside Kells in Co Meath where their mum and dad still live.

Edward came up through the pony ranks and he then learned his trade on the German circuit where he showjumped for many years.

Edward also won the top points in the Castlefield Sporthorse Section of the tour and the Irish Sporthorse Section at Broadmeadows.
